About Our Pastor

Pastor Alex Horton and Sister Debra Horton

Pastor Alex Horton began his life's journey in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He was the last of seven children (four boys and three girls).  Sister Horton (mama) was a very strict Adventist and almost fanatical concerning Adventist education.  She injected our brains with Isaiah 54:13 and a multitude of Biblical scriptures.  Alex received a Bachelor degree from Southwest Adventist College and a Master in Divinity from Andrews University.  For more than twenty-seven years, he has preached the everlasting gospel in the southwest territory.  Prayer is the secret of his accomplishments.  His joy is in the atmosphere of people uniting by the power of the Holy Spirit to complete extraordinary impossibilities.

Alex Horton was transformed after meeting Debra Austin; she rocks his world, balances his personality, and restores his optimism.  Debra is his best friend.  Their union is enriched by Alex Samuel and Geneva Yvonne because of their unique personalities.  Pastor Horton loves to play, enjoys music, reading, camping and sports.  He is an individual who blends extreme personal humility with intense professional will.

Pastor Horton describes ministry as the synergy of Evangelism, Education, Equipping, and Encouraging people by the guiding of the Holy Spirit.  The pivotal passage that keeps Alex Horton is "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will guide thee with my eye."  (Psalms 32:8)

Alex has submitted to Divine leading from Birmingham to Memphis and anticipates the Longview family to grow disciples for the Kingdom of God.  Nevertheless, his greatest expectation is the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
